hailcloud  basics name • age • forty-five moons gender • dmab, cis sexuality • bisexual clan • windclan rank • appearance allegiance • a long furred white tom with brown-amber eyes full • there isn't really anything special. he is completely white, if not a bit off-white from the years of wear his body has experienced, and with it he has brown-amber eyes. he is of average size, though he may seem a bit bigger than other cats due to the sheer amount of fur he has; it's thick and semi-long. the same can be said about his build, definitely not a bulky guy if not a bit lithe but he seems to have some bulk on him due to all the fur he has. he's your average tom cat, just with too much of that soft fluff. personality + hardworking is a descriptor that he has tried not to pride himself on too much, but something that fits him too well. this is one tom that would absolutely exhaust himself if it was for the benefit of either his clan or his family. three patrols a day and need to go hunting too? he'll do it even if it means dragging himself back to camp since his paws will be too sore to carry him back. + caring, something that violetheart and minnowmouth describe him as if ever asked how they would. he has a caring, gentle, and soft nature. he desires to care for both his clan and his family, and will even take on a gentle demeanor if he needs to. he tends to be a big softy around kits, although he doesn't want anymore any time soon. he's half convinced that if he did, they may as well be growing up with his grandchildren anyways. + helpful goes along with hard working. he tries to help out as much as he can, when he can, even when he is exhausted. he's tried to be helpful to anyone and everyone, even if they are out of clan cats unless it would mean betraying his clan since that is something he would never do. he personally doesn't see a problem with "helping thy neighbor". + sociable was a descriptor his father use to use with him. only during a small episode was he not very sociable, otherwise he is a "social butterfly" and really enjoys interacting and talking with the other members of the clan. of course there have been cats he hasn't really interacted with, but if anyone ever needs someone to talk, he or minnowmouth- someone who shares this trait, will be able to. + selfless could be a bad thing but it can also be a good thing, and to him, he sees it as more of a good thing. he would give his life for his clan and his family without a second thought, if it would benefit everyone in the long run. - absent-minded since he tends to space off or say something that may come across as offensive or mean without meaning too. he's fairly educated on gender, sexuality, social norms, and of course warrior skills, but on studies- not much else. he's more than willing to learn at least. - nervous since he's always concerned of saying something wrong and doesn't want anything bad to happen to anyone. he isn't quite anxious, but he gets nervous easily and tends to have a nervous demeanor in general. - impulsive nature happens despite the fact he is pretty level headed and doesn't fly off the handle easily. he tends to get the urge to just do something and it takes a lot of self control for him to stop himself, sometimes he can't. - hostile is a weird word to use with him thus far, but he can quickly become aggressive and domineering in order to calm, or still, a situation that is at hand [or in this case, paws]. this is his general behavior when he takes charge, or takes leadership, in a situation due to his direct and blunt nature of handling things which contributes to the hostile image. this is furthered when he gets upset, as he will get a bit angry too. this is typically around older cats that he thinks should know how to behave better in a situation by now. - impatient is another negative trait. he can be patient at times, enough to hunt, but he doesn't really like sitting around and just waiting for something to happen. he likes to put things in motion. = loyal to his clan through and through, he is selfless for his clan too, however it is a more neutral trait because this can blindside him at times. despite being willing to help out of clan cats, he wouldn't do something that violated the warrior code or betrayed his clan. = calm sort of goes with level-headed. he can be hostile but in general he tends to be calm, hard to upset and provoke. he gets angry when upset and he tends to not like it either. = level-headed despite being hostile. it comes with the fact he isn't very quick or prone to flying off the handle and pretty hard to upset. = open-minded to everyone and everything. he is open to new ideas, even bizarre ones. he thinks anything is worth a try, even if it might not work, as long as it doesn't risk any cats life. he is definitely not too much of a strict traditionalist, often believing that while traditions serve a purpose there can be better ways. relationships (birth) parent 1 • figheart, afab cis, alive. houndwhisker, dfab trans man, alive, fifteen moons [snailcreek's kit]. apprentices • dappleleaf, dfab cis, alive, twenty moons. history hailcloud had a fairly normal childhood growing up, he was one of four children to a somewhat decent couple who frequently had quarrels but tried to keep it away from their childrens eyes. a litter resulting from an attempt to mend their relationship, thinking that raising children would bring them closer together which worked for a little while until the four of them began to age into the apprentice stage; their relationship started to crumble then. his siblings were blossommist, snailcreek, and gooseclaw and they were pretty close as kits. they grew a bit distant since their parents split up, but they would still interact on rather friendly terms. in his late apprentice years, sweetfern took off from windclan and joined thunderclan. the strain and issues with his relationship was too much for the tom, and that was his way to walk out, to leave them. it was a hard blow to the children, it made snailcreek question his loyalty to windclan, blossommist became a bit of a hermit, and gooseclaw try to disconnect from the family unit entirely; for a long time he refused to come around. hailcloud decided to persevere and swallowed the event, he honestly sort of ignored it in order to not dwell on it and get angry. he turned his attention towards social life at this point, and this is about when he met his first mate whose name was violethawk. in their early warrior years, snailcreek also obtained a close friend who he didn't take as a mate until later. it was in one winter that snailcreek finally abandoned windclan, and only on a rumor. he heard that there was the possibility of more prey in riverclan although he didn't see proof, so he took his friend and ran off to riverclan where they settled down. it was another rough blow for hailcloud to take, and this time he let his anger get the best of him. he distanced himself from violethawk, who loved him enough to stay by his side and try to support him through it, and he also distanced himself from other clanmates. he spent his time for at least a few moons just hunting and occasionally visiting the border to see if snailcreek would at least come to talk to him, give him a better reason for leaving, but he never did. he was about twenty moons when he accepted the reality, and about five moons later when he settled down with violethawk and had their first litter which consisted of a single white kitten. it was around this time he managed to find along with meet snailcreek and talk with his brother for the first time at a gathering, this gave some condolences but not much. snailcreek congratulated them, and it wasn't until a health-crisis with his mother a few moons later did the speak again. the so-called health crisis was when he was about thirty two moons or so, it was two moons after snailcreek's mate had their first litter of kits; their mother fell sick with white cough and she already being a bit on the frailer side than she'd like to believe, they were worried for her. she was a senior warrior by that time and because of her age [about eight or so years, long for an outdoor cat], they were worried it would develop into something more. snailcreek couldn't come see her out of worry that he'd bring it back to his kits but it got blossommist to start interacting more with hailcloud and it got gooseclaw back to friendly terms, willing to associate more with his family. this was about the time that hailcloud met his second mate, minnowmouth. a tom who lived in windclan of unknown origin, supposedly came over from riverclan as an apprentice to escape a transphobic mentor. hailcloud had saw the tom around when they were apprentices and occasionally from time to time after they became warriors but didn't interact too much; they met though, when minnowmouth sought him out to see if he needed someone to talk to. the tom clicked with hailcloud pretty quickly and grew very close after a few moons, shortly after hailcloud and violethawk had their second litter of kittens when he was about thirty six moons old. it was a mix of both wanting a second litter and also a celebration that hailcloud's mother made it through the sickness. and when the two clicked, they clicked. they hit it off really fast. about a month after gooseclaw and his mate, who he finally introduced to hailcloud back when his mother was sick, had their first litter of two, they began to talk about getting serious. both violethawk and hailcloud were okay with polyamory, and since minnowmouth seemed to be, they worked out a relationship and live in currently a pretty happy union. hailcloud wasn't much sure about wanting more kits, but minnowmouth wanted a litter with him despite being trans and the dysphoria it caused. minnowmouth claimed that it would feel like they were actually a couple since he and violethawk already had children. besides some family tension and a health scare, hailcloud has had a pretty calm life. he prides himself on having a big family, he enjoys being a part of one, and loves both of his mates very much and he loves all six of his children equally. he tries to be there for his children and accepting of them no matter what, and he wants to be a good uncle to his sibling's children too [although he is convinced that blossommist is too much of a hermit to ever settle down with a family of her own]. overall, he is a hard-working tom who wants to provide for everyone in his clan and his family too. |
