basics name • age • 65 moons gender • dfab tom (he/him) sexuality • gay clan • windclan rank • warrior appearance allegiance • a short-furred, black-furred tom with a white locket and green eyes. full • jaystream is fairly self explanatory and standard for a moggie. his face is cobby or semi-cobby, and he has a lean body preferable for a swimming cat. his fur is short and compact, easily dispelling water, and his eyes are round and green. his ears are short and rounded, and his tail is an average length. his legs are long, lending to his leggy stature. personality positives + generous :: if you ask jaystream for a minute, he'll give you an hour. ask for a mouse and he'll give you two mice. he feels he should give back more than he takes in order to please others and do what is morally right. + peace-keeping :: he would do anything to protect his clan and keep harmony, though this may mean he has to make self-sacrifices or make painful decisions in relation to his beliefs. he is dedicated to making sure the clan stays relatively at ease with itself, and hates divisive situations or events. + judicious :: jaystream can make fairly agreeable or good decisions, given enough time to give proper consideration to them. he will rarely make a rash decision, and prefers not to make them on the fly. negatives - brooding :: often worries about things out of his control. will stress out about things he can't directly influence and hates when others make decisions for him. - hesitant :: jaystream is the kind of cat to wait and see what will happen before he actively starts to participate in something. he tends to let others act before him and assesses the risk based on their results. - stagnant :: jaystream rarely steps out of line or experiments with loopholes. he believes he should be law-abiding, but only when he feels the rules are morally correct. neutral traits = contemplative :: jaystream is often lost in thought, still curious about the world even in his older moons. this can be a blessing and a curse; on one paw, he gives thorough consideration to decisions needing to be made, but on the other, he tends to miss out on information given if he's too focused on a thought to pay any attention. = moralistic :: jaystream believes that rules are in place as a guideline, rather than a strict law to follow to the letter. he may bend the rules to his own liking if he feels they aren't 'correct' or align to his own morals. = nostalgic :: oftentimes jaystream reminisces about his youth, and especially of his old romance with his missing mate. he often wishes things could be back to how they were before redfoot's disappearance. relationships mother • lavenderheart, dmab molly, deceased mother • rosefang, dfab molly, living mate • redfoot, dmab tom, unknown mentor • yarrowclaw, dmab tom, deceased apprentice • graystone, dmab tom, living history Jaykit was born to a lesbian couple, Lavenderheart and Rosefang, with no siblings to speak of. Inquisitive and curious, Jaykit's forays out of the den were innocent and naive, but his mothers raised him to have good manners, so he rarely found himself disobeying or saying mean things to others on purpose. On occasion he would say something totally out of the blue, unprompted, that would turn heads and earn little Jaykit an odd look or two, always something that made sense when one thought of it but never with any logical link from the current conversation. Growing up as an apprentice, Jaypaw found himself with a normal apprenticeship. His mentor, Yarrowclaw, was strict with him, but was a father figure in his life, and he often went to Yarrowclaw for advice on tricky matters. Finding out he liked toms, for example, or his initial discovery of realizing he was transgender, were both things that Yarrowclaw wasn't very well prepared to handle, but were handled well enough for a cis tom. He was friends with many cats and made himself familiar with the elders and older warriors quickly as a way to learn things that other apprentices might not pay attention to. Jaypaw was named Jaystream, for his love of swimming. His childhood crush on another young tom by the name of Redfoot deepened, becoming something stronger, and before long he found himself confessing at a young 17 moons. The two were inseperable, and for over a year the two stayed together. It was the happiest time in Jaystream's life. However, at 35 moons old, his beloved Redfoot disappeared without a trace. It was maddening, knowing his mate had disappeared off into the wilderness, but why? He felt he would never possibly know the answer, as Redfoot was gone for what seemed like forever. At 41 moons, he was given Graypaw as an apprentice. He was never hard on him - no, far from it, actually. Jaystream tried his best to emulate Yarrowclaw's behavior as a mentor, though tended to be on the more relaxed side of things and letting Graypaw get away with a few things he may not have been able to with a mentor like Yarrowclaw. Graypaw's graduation filled Jaystream with joy, gratitude, and a sort of parental proudness of Graystone's accomplishments. |
